In order for your Students to receive text messages from you, they must first link their mobile phone with their CustomCollegePlan accounts. These text messages originate from CollegePlannerPro, and so, students will not have access to your mobile phone number. See "How do I get Students to link their mobile phone with their account?" Once Students have successfully linked their mobile phones with their accounts, your Conversation posts and Student Calendar Alerts can be received via text messages. Please note that the texting functionality is only available for active/enabled students who have linked their mobile phones with their accounts.
Students may receive Conversation posts via text on their mobile phones. Once a text message from a Conversation post is received on their mobile phone, students may reply to the message by sending a response text directly from their phone. (Students may also post messages to the Conversation from their CustomCollegePlan account.) Student replies to Conversation posts will be displayed on the Conversation module. You may elect to receive an alert by email and/or text each time a student posts to the conversation module. Tip: Send students an initial conversation post suggesting that they save this number so that they may reach out to you directly from their mobile phone. This sets up an easy way for your students to keep in direct contact with you.
When creating calendar events for your Student clients, you have the ability to send Students alerts associated with calendar items. You have the ability to send reminder alerts via email and text. Check out How do I create calendar events and alerts? for more information.
