In order for your Students to receive text messages from you they must first link their mobile phone with their CustomCollegePlan accounts. These text messages originate from CollegePlannerPro and not your mobile phone. See "How do I get Students to link their mobile phone with their account?" Once Students have successfully linked their mobile phones with their accounts, your Conversation posts and Student Calendar Alerts may be received via text messages. Below is a list of modules and how text messages can be sent using these modules. The following functionality is only available for active/enabled students who have linked their mobile phone with their account.
Conversation Module
Students may receive Conversation posts via text on their mobile phone. Once a text message from a Conversation post is received on their mobile phone, Students may reply to the message by sending a response text directly from their phone. (Students may also post messages to the Conversation from their CustomCollegePlan account.) Student replies to Conversation posts will be displayed on the Conversation module. You may elect to receive an alert by email and/or text each time a student posts to the conversation module. Tip: Send students an initial conversation post suggesting that they save this number so that they may reach out to you directly from their mobile phone. This sets up an easy way for your students to keep in direct contact with you.
Calendar Alerts
When creating calendar events for your Student clients, you have the ability to send Students alerts associated with calendar items. Alerts will automatically be sent via email and also by text message (if their mobile is linked). See, "How do I create calendar events and alerts?"
