Stripe payments FAQ

What does it cost?

There's no setup or monthly fee from CollegePlannerPro. Stripe charges processing fees on each payment and other add on services at its standard published rates. You can find all rates at: https://stripe.com/pricing

When do I get my money?

Stripe deposits payments to your bank account on its standard payout schedule. You can see upcoming payouts and change the schedule in your Stripe Dashboard. 

Do I have to offer online payment to every client?

No. You can turn Stripe payments off on any invoice. See How do I turn Stripe payments on or off for an invoice?

Which payment methods can my clients use?

Each account owner can customize which payment methods you want to accept in your Stripe Dashboard payment method settings. CollegePlannerPro supports all major cards, ACH bank transfers, Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, and Google Pay payments.

Can I accept payments from clients outside the US? 

Yes, through credit/ debit card payments you do have the ability to accept payments from outside the US but there will be an additional 1.5% Stripe fee for international transactions. https://stripe.com/pricing 

Can sub-account consultants accept Stripe payments?

Yes. Once the Account Owner connects Stripe, invoices created by any consultant with Billing & Invoicing access can include the Pay now button. Payments go to the account's single Stripe account.

Does a Stripe payment automatically record on the invoice?

Yes. You don't need to enter the payment manually. Only record payments you receive outside Stripe, like checks.

Does a refund automatically record on the invoice?

Yes, any refund processed on a Stripe payment will automatically record on the original invoice and update the status back to Unpaid.
