Accepting online payments with Stripe: Overview

CollegePlannerPro connects directly with Stripe so your clients can pay invoices online by card, digital wallet, or bank transfer, and every payment is recorded on the invoice automatically in CollegePlannerPro.

How it works with CollegePlannerPro

1. The Account Owner connects a Stripe account from the Add/Remove Modules page.
2. You create and email invoices as usual. Each invoice has a Stripe payments switch that is on by default.
3. Your client clicks Pay now in the email or on the online invoice and pays on a secure Stripe checkout page that can be custom branded for your business.
4. CollegePlannerPro automatically marks the invoice Paid and records the payment in your CollegePlannerPro Account. Stripe deposits the funds to your bank account based on the payout settings you select.

What you'll need

• You must be the Account Owner to connect Stripe.
• The Billing & Invoicing module must be enabled.

• A business or individual bank account and the details Stripe asks for to verify your identity. Learn more about Stripe's list of requirements here. 

  Note: If you already have a Stripe account, connection to CollegePlannerPro does not require you to re-enter business details, just simply login with your Stripe credentials through the Connect Stripe button under Add/Remove modules.

Payment methods

Credit and debit cards and ACH bank transfers are available on every account. Digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Cash App Pay may also appear at checkout. You choose which methods to offer in your Stripe Dashboard settings. 

As of October 2026, CollegePlannerPro supports credit/debit, ACH/Bank transfer, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App Pay payments.

You stay in control

Stripe payments can be turned on or off for each invoice, so you can offer online payment only to the clients you choose. See How do I turn Stripe payments on or off for an invoice?
