Common Data Set
The Common Data Set is a product of the Common Data Set Initiative, "a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report."
CollegePlannerPro licenses the Common Data Set from Peterson's College Data annually. New data sets from Peterson's College Data become available to us in September. We then perform a data cleanse to identify any potential anomalies and update college profiles shortly thereafter. Processing of data can take up to 2 weeks.
Note: The current data is the 2022-2023 Common Data Set, which represents data for the cohort admitted/enrolled in Fall 2022
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), a part of the Institute for Education Sciences within the United States Department of Education.
Although IPEDS does not publish an updated schedule, we've found that the bulk of updates become available annually around September, and we update our college profiles whenever new data becomes available.
