Disabling a student's CustomCollegePlan account vs. making a student inactive

Making a student inactive and disabling their CustomCollegePlan account are two different processes.

One thing to note about your subscription plan is that each plan allows for an additional student. This means that if you are on the 10-student plan, you can have 11 active students before needing to upgrade. We have implemented this so that consultants can add a sample student for their own internal testing and/or marketing purposes.

Disabling a student’s CustomCollegePlan account

Disabling a student's account means the student no longer has access to CustomCollegePlan, but you (the consultant) are still able to access and update all information on the student’s profile page in CollegePlannerPro. This means you can add documents, notes, and time tracker hours, among other things, and the student still counts as an active student for the purposes of your subscription plan limits.

Below are directions on how to disable your student's CustomCollegePlan account.

1. Head to the student's profile page in CollegePlannerPro
2. At the top of the left-most column, under CustomCollegePlan Student Access, you will see a toggle next to the student's name and email address. A teal/green toggle indicates that the account is enabled; gray indicates that the account is disabled. Click the teal/green toggle to disable the student account and immediately remove access for your student. 

Changing a student's profile status to "inactive" 

When a student's profile status is inactive, the profile page will display as a partial, read-only view, and you will no longer have the ability to add to or work with the profile. Changing the status also means that the student will not count towards your subscription plan's active student limit.

Making a student inactive automatically disables that student's CustomCollegePlan account.

When a student profile is deactivated, all student data* is preserved and available for review via all reports throughout the platform. Should you at some point wish to add more information to your student’s profile, you may simply change their profile status to “active” again to regain full read/write access to their student profile page.

To make a student profile "inactive":

1. Navigate to the student's profile page.
2. Towards the bottom left, you will see a toggle that says, "Active student client" under the heading, "Student Client Status". A teal/green toggle indicates that the student profile is active; gray indicates that the student profile is inactive.

*Please note that upon deactivating a student profile, any student profile picture that was previously uploaded will not be saved if you later choose to reactivate the student. Additionally, Keychain permissions will be reset to the default settings, meaning that counselors will not be able to access the student's Keychain if the student profile is deactivated and later reactivated, without students re-granting permission to the consultant. The individual entries in the student's Keychain (usernames and passwords), however, will be preserved.
