Why don't calendar events show up immediately on my Google Calendar?

If you have your CollegePlannerPro calendar linked to your Google calendar, you may notice that there is a delay between the time you enter a new event into CollegePlannerPro and when it appears on your Google Calendar.

This issue is not related to CollegePlannerPro, but rather, it is the result of Google Calendar's refresh rate on externally linked calendars. Officially Google says that it can take up to 12 hours to show changes in Google Calendar, but we've seen this can be closer to 24 hours. Google does not publish its exact refresh cycle, nor do they allow users to change the frequency of the refresh. Here's a screenshot from Google's help forum:
