Schools that Superscore

While many colleges superscore the ACT and/or the SAT, it’s always a good idea to review the score-use policy for each college. You can usually find this policy on the admissions website, usually in an “application requirements” section.

Since these lists are long, we recommend using Ctrl + F to find any particular schools of interest.

The SAT:

According to College Board, colleges that superscore the SAT use the best section-level scores, even if they were from different tests. Many colleges that follow a superscore policy encourage students to submit all test scores, and some require it. This allows them to see and consider the highest section scores consistently and fairly across all applicants. Students will have the option through the College Board’s reporting tool Score Choice™ to decide by test date which scores will appear on the score reports that the College Board will send to colleges. The ACT:

According to ACT, Inc., the ACT Superscore is beneficial because it takes the average of the four best subject scores from each ACT test attempt—and counts it as your official score. The ACT allows anyone to view this on-demand webinar regarding superscoring and discusses why students should use it one their college applications.
